Martin Holds Off Gordan To Win at Chicagoland

Another strong run for Gordon and Stewart

JOLIET, IL.- Hendrick Motorsports shined bright once again at Chicagoland, taking a one-two finish. Mark Martin found victory lane once again this season, winning the Lifelock.com 400 at Chicagoland Speedway in Joliet, IL. Coming in second was Martin's teammate Jeff Gordan.

Kasey Kahne raced to a top three finish, coming home in third place. Fourth place belonged to "The Rushville Rocket" Tony Stewart. Denny Hamlin had another great run, rounding out the top five finishers.

Taking sixth place was Stewart's teammate Ryan Newman. Polesitter Brain Vickers finished the night in seventh place, while eighth went to Hendrick Motorsports racer Jimmie Johnson. Rounding out the top ten, was Clint Bowyer in 9th and Juan Pablo Montoya in 10th.

Stewart still has a solid grasp on the Nascar Sprint Cup Series points race. A strong second place finish brings Gordan to within 175 points of Stewart. Johnson sits in third, 212 points behind Smoke. Team Penske's Kurt Busch stands in fourth, 358 points back of the points leader. After a strong fifth place finish, Hamlin moved up from sixth to fifth in the points race, 427 points behind his former Gibbs Racing teammate.

The Nascar Sprint Cup Series takes next weekend off, before they travel to the famed "Yard of Bricks" for the Brickyard 400 on Sunday, July 26th. Check your local television listings for start times for the Brickyard 400.
