Darland Makes History at Kamp Motor

BOSWELL, IN.- USAC legend Dave Darland (Left) held off a hard-charging Cole Whitt to take his second victory of the 2009 Indiana Sprint Week campaign. Darland sits atop the leader board for the most wins in Indiana Sprint Week competition. Darland's 13 Indiana Sprint Week victories puts him ahead Cory Kruseman, who had 12 ISW wins.

After Whitt, was 2009 ISW points leader Chad Boat in third. Fourth went to Tony Stewart Racing's Levi Jones, while Jon Stanbrough rounds out the top five finishers on Thursday night. Finishing just outside the top five was Bryan Clauson, while Josh Wise grabbed seventh place. Terre Haute ISW winner Brad Sweet took eighth place, while Dustin Morgan (9th) and Tracy Hines (10th) made up the top ten finishers at Kamp Motor Speedway on Thursday night.

Boat's 294 still leads the overall 2009 ISW points race. With his latest fourth place finish, Jones jumped ahead of Clauson to take over second place. Jones has 284 ISW points. Clauson is third in points with 282. With his two ISW victories, Darland occupies the fourth spot in the race, with 273. Fifth is Cole Whitt, who has 217 points this ISW campaign.

Levi Jones has the overall 2009 USAC Sprint Car series points lead with 1,075 points this season. With his latest victory at Kamp Motor, Darland has pulled himself to within 25 points of Jones. Darland sits in second with 1,050 points. Whitt is third with 966 points, while fourth belongs to Coons, who has 938. Fifth is Jones's TSR teammate Tracy Hines who has 795 points this year.

Bloomington Speedway is the next destination for the USAC Sprint Car series, as they race the sixth night of Indiana Sprint Week tonight at 7:30 p.m.
