Boat Wins at Kokomo

KOKOMO, IN.- Chad Boat (Left) led the whole way, picking up the 30 lap feature win in the 3rd night of Indiana Sprint Week. Noblesville racer Bryan Clauson continues to run constantly strong, finishing with another second place showing. USAC legend Jon Stanbrough came back from his scary flip at Gas City, to take a third place finish at Kokomo Speedway. Kasey Kahne Racing's Brad Sweet took fourth, while fifth went to Hud Cone.

Sixth went to West Terre Haute racer Blake Fitzpatrick, while Tony Stewart Racing's Levi Jones came away with a seventh place showing. Eighth went to Josh Wise, while Jerry Coons Jr. (9th) and Darren Hagan (10th) rounded out the top ten.

Clauson is hanging on to the overall Indiana Sprint Week points lead. Fresh off last night's victory at Kokomo, Boat sits right behind Clauson in the battle for Indiana Sprint Week points title. In third is Gas City winner Levi Jones. Fourth goes to Blake Fitzpatrick, while fifth goes to Lawrenceburg winner Dave Darland.

In the overall USAC Sprint season points race, Tony Stewart Racing's Levi Jones stands atop the leader board with 968. Darland is behind Jones in second with 917. Red Bull racer Cole Whitt is in third with 847, while Coons Jr. is fourth with 838. Rounding out the top five in points is Tracy Hines with 721 points. Just outside the top five is "The Demon" Damion Gardner, who sits in the sixth spot with 680 points this season. With his win at Kokomo, Boat is now tenth in the season points race, with 520 points on the year.

The USAC Sprint Cars get a few days to rest, before they head south to take on the Terre Haute Action Track in Terre Haute, IN. on Wednesday, July 15th.
