1st Stop of "The Western Swing" For NHRA

Capps ties Force Hood for F.C. Points Lead

DENVER, CO.- It was another exciting weekend for NHRA drag racing. This weekend was the Mopar Mile High Nationals.

In the semifinals of the Top Fuel dragsters, Doug Kalitta defeated Cory McCleanathan, and TF points leader Anton Brown (Left) got pass Spencer Massey. Brown took his 5th career finals win, defeating Kalitta. This will definitely help strengthen Brown's lead in the Top Fuel points race.

It was another classic semifinal showcase in Funny Car. Ron Capps advanced to the finals by beating Jack Beckman. Ashley Force Hood took down her Force Racing teammate Robert Hight. The Finals was an instant classic. This match up directly affected the Funny Car points race. Ron Capps took a close win over Force Hood. Now the two are tied for the F.C. points lead, heading into next weekend's NHRA Northwest Nationals from Seattle, WA.

It was an all Harley Davidson Final to decide the Pro Stock Motorcycle Champion. Pro Stock points leader Eddie Krawiec (Left) defeated Hector Arana, while his teammate Andrew Hines beat Craig Tremble. The Harley Davidson teammates faced off at Norwalk, and now it was time to see who had the winning combination at Denver. Krawiec was able to pad his points lead, by defeating his teammate Hines.

Jason Line(Left) defeated Allen Johnson in the Pro Stock Final. Line advanced to the Finals by beating Pro Stock points leader Jeg Coughlin, while Johnson got there by defeating Rickie Jones.

Next up for the NHRA is this weekend (July 17-19), as they travel to Seattle, WA. to take part in the NHRA Northwest Nationals.
