BLOOMINGTON SPEEDWAY (BLOOMINGTON, IN.)- Kokomo racer Shane "The Throttle" Cottle (Pictured Right) passed New Castle, IN. native Tracy Hines on Lap 5 and never looked back, winning the 30 lap feature in the 3rd night of USAC Mopar "Indiana Midget Week.
Hines finished right behind Cottle in 2nd. Third went to "The Bullet" Bryan Clauson. Lincoln Park feature winner Brad Sweet put together another consistent run to finish fourth. Gas City feature winner Steve Buckwalter rounded out the top five finishers in Friday's feature.
Lincoln, IN. native Dave Darland finished the night in sixth. Seventh place went to the always exciting Jerry Coons Jr. Brent Beauchamp came home in eighth, while Thomas Meseraull took the checkers in nineth place. Tenth place belonged to Avon, IN. native Brad Kuhn.
TSR racer Levi Jones came home in 11th, while Brad Loyet raced his way to a 12th place finish. Matt Smith finished right behind Loyet in 13th. Billy Pauch Jr. finished the night in 14th, while Shane Hmiel ended the night in 15th. Don Droud Jr. finished right behind Hmiel in 16th. Henry Clarke "D. Griswald" took the checkers in 17th, while 18th went to "The Hawk" Darren Hagen. Matt Westfall ended the night in 19th, while Brownsburg racer Bobby East came home in 20th place. Finishing 21st was Davey Ray, while Caleb Armstrong ended his night in 22nd.
With his fourth place finish tonight, Kasey Kahne racer Brad Sweet is the leader of the USAC Mopar "Indiana Midget Week" points race with 198. Sitting in second is Buckwalter with 182. Kuhn is third with 162. Hines is just 2 points behind Kuhn with 160. With his big feature win at Bloomington, Cottle sits in fifth with 149.
Hagan and East will look to bounce back, as the USAC Mopar "Indiana Midget Week" sets it's sights on the always exciting Lawrenceburg Speedway in Lawrenceburg, IN.
