Exciting Racing Action at the 2010 Miami County Fair Race

PERU, IN.- Wednesday's rain showers cleared just in time for some fun, action-packed micro sprint racing at the Miami County Speedway.  One hundred and twelve micro sprints took part in this year's running of the Miami County Fair Race.

Miami County Speedway ran the full weekly program of micro sprint classes.  These classes included the Nonwing, Wing, Restrictor, and the Senior.

"The Bullet" Bryan Clauson raced Joe Leek's black No. 17 Nonwing (Pictured Right) in this year's Fair Race. Clauson worked his way through the field, finishing the night, 4th in the 25 lap A-Main.

In the Junior Class, Tyler Duff cruised to the feature victory.  Kayaleb Bolton took a solid second place finish, while third went to Kaleb Wilkerson.  Jared Van Ness finished fourth, whle Justin Harper rounded out the top five Junior Class A-Main finishers.

Next up were the Restrictors.  The Restrictors had a B-Main, which #14C Cole Angle won.  Kokomo, IN. racer Parker Price-Miller (Pictured Left) led from green to checkers, winning the 25 lap Restrictor A-Main. After the big win, Price-Miller said, "It feels real good to win tonight. It was our night to win.  We started 1st and won.  I had a good setup from my Uncle Kacey Price."  Taking second place was Zach Hampton.  Mentone, IN. racer Barbie Kimmel came home third, while fourth belonged to Peru, IN. native Braiden Black.  Garrett Duff rounded out the top five in the Restrictor Class.

The other B-Main came in the Wing Class. Bob Bourff held off Cole Ketchum to win the Wing Class B-Main. McCordsville, IN. racer Wes McIntire (Pictured Right) won the 25 lap feature. McIntire said, "It felt good to win. I'm glad to be back. I've been racing sprints. It feels good to get a win here."  Tyler Courtney put together a solid run to finish second. Matt Johnson came home with a hard fought third place finish. Fourth went to Jason Montel, while Tyler Stump ended his night in fifth place.

The feature that most of the crowd was waiting for was the 25 lap Nonwing feature.  North Manchester, IN. native Jordan Lambert (Pictured Left) won the 25 lapper. "It feels pretty good to win tonight. I'm a little tired, but I'm glad we won," said Lambert. Finishing right behind Lambert was Camden, IN. racer Chris Miller.  Third belonged to Peru, IN. native Brandon Rose.  "The Bullet" Bryan Clauson raced his way to a strong fourth place finish, while Tyler Stump grabbed a fifth place finish.

The final feature run during the Miami County Fair Race was the Senior Class.  Logansport, IN. racer Tom Corcoran took the checkered floag in the Senior Class A-Main.  "It's been a long time since I've won.  My Dad raced for 40 years and won a lot of features. I let my kids run a few years. This was the year I said I'm going to race, and it feels good to get back to victory lane," said Corcoran. Mike Stahl was right behind Corcoran in second. Jim Ray raced hsi way to a solid third place showing., while fourth belonged to Gary Klein.  Rob Johnson rounded out the top five Senior Class finishers.

Miami County Speedway returns to action during July 4th weekend, when they race a big two night program Friday and Saturday, July 3rd and 4th.  I'll be there, will you?
