LAWRENCEBURG SPEEDWAY (LAWRENCEBURG, IN.)- New Castle, IN. native Tracie Hines (Pictured Left) put his #24 USAC Mopar Midget in front and stayed there, winning the 30 lapper on Saturday night. The win put Hines in the lead for the 2010 Indiana Midget Week crown, heading into the Sunday's finale at Kokomo Speedway. The USAC Mopar Midget National points leader Bryan Clauson had a very strong run to finish in 2nd. Jerry Coons Jr. ended his night in third place. Brad Loyet raced with the front runners, finishing fourth, while fifth went to Lincoln, IN. racer Dave Darland.
Finishing just outside the top five was Avon, IN. native Brad Kuhn, while Zach Daum finished seventh. Chase Barber came home eighth, while Gas City winner Steve Buckwalter took the checkers in nineth place. Rounding out the top ten finishers on Saturday night was Caleb Armstrong.
Other finishers outside the top ten include; Mario Clouser in 11th; Shane Hmiel in 12th; Henry Clarke "D. Griswald" in 13th; Levi Roberts in 14th; while Brian Postle finished in 15th. Finishing 16th was Murray Erickson, while 17th belonged to Kent Schmidt. Brownsburg, IN. racer Bobby East came home 18th, while "The Hawk" Darren Hagan ended his night in 19th. Chad Boat took the checkers in 20th place, while 21st was occupied by Kellen Conover. Kasey Kahne racer Brad Sweet finished 22nd.
In the 2010 Indiana Midget Week standings, Hines holds an eight point advantage over second place Steve Buckwalter, who has 221 points. Kuhn sits third with 218 points, while Sweet is just one point behind Kuhn with 217 points. Clauson is currently fifth in the IMW points race with 206.
This sets up quite a spectacular finale on Sunday night at the Kokomo Speedway in Kokomo, IN. I'll be there, the only question is will you?
