NAPA Night at Gas City Speedway

GAS CITY SPEEDWAY (GAS CITY, IN.)- It was a beautiful night for racing, as Gas City Speedway welcomed the "NAPA Night at the Races" on Friday night.

Lafayette, IN. racer Shane Hollingsworth (Pictured Left) passed Pone, CA. native Justin Grant to pick up the 25 lap Sprint Car feature A-Main.   "It feels good to win. I'm just relieved we got to race. There has been many rainouts this year, but it feels good to get race and win," Hollingsworth said.

After the race, second place finisher Justin Grant said, "It feels good to finish second.  The car was fast all night. I messed up on the restart. I let Shane (Hollingsworth) get by me. I'm happy to finish second tonight." Third went to Lincoln, IN. racer Dave Darland.  "It felt good. We had a good car tonight. It was a good night," Darland said.

New Castle, IN. native Kyle Robbins came away with a hard fought fourth place finish, while fifth went to Thomas Meseraull. Sixth was the No. 16 Nonwing Sprint of Billy Puterbaugh Jr. Finishing behind Puterbaugh Jr. was Kokomo, IN. native Josh Spencer. Steve Ott came home in eighth. Andrew Elson bounced back from an early flat right rear to finish nineth. Rounding out the top ten was Casey Riggs.

Andy Bishop took the victory in the 25 lap A-Main UMP Late Modified feature. Taking second was No. 188 Aaron Orr.  Jon Fosnaugh put together another solid run to finish third. Fourth belonged to No. 20 Scott Orr, while Zeke McKenzie rounded out the top five finishers.

Marion, IN. racer Ervin Turner raced to another impressive Street Stock A-Main victory. Landon Miller came home second in his No. OOM Street Stock. Finishing third is Brandon Roundtree. Jeff Baldauf took a strong fourth place showing in his No. 73 Street Stock. Caleb Nutter rounded out the top five in his 3N Street Stock.

Josh Owens roared from the back of the field to take the Thunder Car A-Main victory. DJ Holt finished second, while No. 001 Jerald Owens took third. Fourth belonged to No. 83 Travis Nichols. Jason Shrout raced his No. 50 Thunder Car to a hard fought fifth place finish.

The Gas City Speedway returns to action on Friday, July 2nd with their action-packed roster of Nonwing Sprints, UMP Late Modifieds, Street Stocks, and Thunder Cars! I'll be there, will you?
