GAS CITY, IN.- Gas City (I-69) Speedway was the place for some great racing action on Friday, June 26th. The program featured USAC Ford Focus Midgets, UMP Modifieds, UMP Street Stocks, Thunder Cars, and 600 Micro Sprints. A hand full of micro sprint racers from Miami County Speedway helped put on a great show for the Gas City fans.

Greenfield native No. 9L Ryan Langston held off a hard-charging second place micro of No. 94 Andrew Peters to win the A-Main for the 600 micros. After the victory, Langston said, "It feels good to come up here and get a win. I started off on the bottom, but didn't feel like i was gaining ground on the leader. After the red flag, I moved up, and raced the high side." Third belonged to MCS racer No. 83 Wes McIntire.

Street stock racer Ervin Turner (Marion, IN.) stole the show, winning two features and one heat race in his No. 1 street stock machine. Turner open the night's action by winning the make up UMP Modified feature from Friday, June 19th. Then Turner won the last feature of the night. After his big night of racing, Turner said, "Two feature wins in one night. It feels good. That's ten feature wins this year." The No. R1 street stock of Ryan Ramseyer took second place honors, while No. 1N Jimmy Nutter came home in third.

In the USAC Ford Focus Midgets, Cincinnati's No. 33 Ronnie Wuerdeman took the checkered flag. "I went four years without a win," Wuerdeman explained. "Then I came here (Gas City I-69 Speedway) last April and got my first win in four years. We came back with a vengence. Good win plus my family surprised me by coming here to watch me race. " Taking second place was No. 22 Joe Liguori, while third went to No. 38 Jimmy Simpson.

There was a battle for the win in the UMP Modified A-Main. It came down to No. 25 Bub Patrick and No. 88 Scotty Orr. Patrick passed Orr for the feature win. "It always feels good to win. The highlight was passing Scotty Orr on the last lap," Patrick said. No. 4M Brandon McComas rounded out the top three finishers.

Rounding out the 5 awesome features is the Thunder Car A-Main. No. 12x Josh Owens found victory lane, winning the Thunder Car A-Main. Right behind Owens, was No. 36 DJ Holt in second, while third place went to the No. oo Thunder Car of Bryan Martin.
