HICKORY SPEEDWAY (HICKORY, N.C.)- Pleasant Garden, N.C. racer Shane Hmiel (Pictured Left) took his first career Mopar Midget Series checker flag on Wednesday night in the 40 lap feature to begin the USAC Mopar Midget's 2 night racing venture at Hickory Speedway. Brownsburg, IN. native Bobby East put together another strong run, leading a total of 23 laps and coming in second. Tracy Hines took third place in the feature. World of Outlaw sprint car racer Cale Conley took a fourth place finish, while Kasey Kahne Racing's Brad Sweet rounded out the top five finishers. Sixth place went to Alex Bowman, while Jerry Coons Jr. brought home a seventh place finish. Noblesville, IN. racer Bryan Clauson put together a good run, taking an eighth place finish. Darren Hagan and Levi Roberts rounded out the top ten in Wednesday night's feature.
The Mopar Midgets return to race at the Hickory Speedway on Thursday night. You can catch coverage of tonight's racing action from Hickory Speedway on Friday afternoon from "Through the Gears."
